Frontier Bank secures Bastrop site for first branch location

An intersection in Bastrop will soon be home to the first branch location of emerging Frontier Bank of Texas.
Elgin-based Frontier Bank closed late last week on property on the northwest corner of Chestnut Street and State Highway 95 in Bastrop. Final engineering and design plans are underway.
Founded in June 2007, Elgin-based Frontier Bank has accumulated $49 million in assets. The bank is a collaboration among several former executives with Elgin Bank, a community bank that was acquired by Franklin Bank in 2005. Frontier is led by President and CEO Elaine Martin.
Joe Beal, one of the founders of Frontier Bank, says the bank has a number of shareholders in the Bastrop area, a fact that aided in the decision to open the first branch in that market.
“This decision demonstrates the confidence our board has in the people of Bastrop and our community’s economic future,” says Tom Scott, another member of the Frontier Bank board.
